Hi! I have a vintage box for you today!
The new Designer’s Choice die set by Tonic Studios has been revealed and today I have a fun video for you! We are going to take a close-up look on what’s included and I will also put together a vintage box.
The Designer’s Choice die set this month is called “Cosy Cantilever Box ( USA | UK )” and it includes 19 dies for the price of $19.99 ! You can use the dies to decorate cards, to make little boxes or go for the big project and create a cantilever box with lots of levels!
Here are some examples of what you can make!
In the video below you can take a close up look on all the dies where I discuss how versatile they are and I will use the set to create a vintage little box! You can use the boxes as gift boxes, as treat boxes or even to hold bits and pieces in your craft room like I did with mine!

I used the dies to create a little vintage box and I had so much fun creating a 3D project. I usually make flat projects like cards and art journal pages and when I get a chance to create something 3D it is triple the joy! I keep my lovely box next to my monitor and decorates my desk. I keep inside little treasures like paper clips, stickers, an eraser, a washi tape and other bits and pieces you could find laying around on my desk that I use on my filofax.
I made two identical basic boxes and then put one on top of the other to create a lid. The box is made out of kraft cardstock and it holds great. I used my Nuvo deluxe glue to put it together with no issues but you can definitely use double sided tape.
To keep the boxes together I used one hinge on each side but you can decorate it even more by adding a second one. You can also use the rectangle dies from the set to cut out pieces that can cover the little holes while decorating the sides. I like my projects quite simple so I didn’t do it on mine.
For the hinges and the top decoration I used the Leather – Embossed paper( USA | UK ) that adds that extra touch and was perfect for the style that I was going for.
It’s not a big box but it could hold candy and chocolate treats… and it would make a great gift box for a bracelet, earrings and other jewelry.
On the inside you can see the legs of the brads but again, use the dies to cut out rectangles that fit perfectly inside to cover them up. Remember you get 19 dies and they are all made to fit the different dimensions of this box.

Oh that looks like so much fun! I could see turning the box into a mini shadow box and putting a photo inside or even grouping a number of the boxes together to make a boxed collage! I’ve been working recently with old family photos and this could make a great family photo collage!! Thank you so much, Vicky!
OH my GOODNESS, this box is AMAZING! Thanks so much for the video!
