Welcome to another art journal with alcohol inks, foiling and stamping …and many more fun mixed media techniques!
I am making the most out of the Tim Holtz – Theories ( SBC | SSS ) stamp set so here is one more page using the same style as my other two pages. If you want to check these out you can visit THIS post and THIS one.
For my background I used alcohol inks in Rust ( SBC | SSS ) and Butterscotch ( SBC | SSS ) colors. Love the look! My favorite technique with alcohol inks is applying first blending solution on Yupo paper, because it helps the inks to blend so easy! Then add my ink colors and blow with a straw and I get a beautiful blended effect as a result. Looks like watercolor but much more vibrant.
I created a visual frame by stamping all around the edges, a techniques that seems like it makes the pages look more finished. I also added extra layers by using different design tapes … because what’s an art journal without layers right?!
I also wanted to pop the guy and the balloon on my page, since this is the focal point. So I stamped him separately, cut him out and used foam tape at the back. For the balloon I just cut out a circle from some scrap yupo papers that I had from previous projects, hence adding a pop of color on my page. That balloon really stands out.
Can you see all the texture, the layers, the stamping… how all the colors come together!? Just love the outcome!
This is one more page for my 6×6 disc bounded art journal. I absolutely love working on it since it gives me so much freedom than a book with a spine… but it’s technically still a book.

I’m really enjoying these alcohol ink backgrounds as well as the pages being done with the same set, so I’d love to see you use that last stamp in this series. Very nicely done. Thanks for sharing it with us.
Vicky, I really enjoy watching you do your art journal pages. Your ideas are fantastic and relaxed. I am learning a lot from your style. Thank you.
You make this look so easy….and organized with color and layers , like you planned it all very deliberately. I have been trying a few and they come out “scary”…… It’s not easy to coordinate everything. I keep trying to make something fascinating like you do., but don’t think I am very good at this. I would rather just watch your amazing videos. LOL
Wonderful page, as usual. I like this style and would watch many more of your videos……this style or any style…….LOL I just love your creativity and watching how you put everyhing together so nicely.
What a lovely page!!! I really love these alcohol backgrounds and the stamp set and the fact that you are using all parts of the set, so I would definitely want to watch more of these videos!!!
Love it. Such great colors, and I love how you’re using all the stamps in the set to do your journal. The green balloon was just perfect. Thanks so much for sharing.
