Welcome to Create8 ! Today I am featuring stamps and dies from the MFT August release and I will be sharing 8 cards. As always the release is packed with products for everyone. I hope the video tutorial will help you decide what you love them most!
card 1 – poppies card
We all love flowers and when it comes to poppies I just can’t resist. I love that bright red color on a card and I think it brings a smile to the recipient too. Below I used the Painted Poppies ( MFT ) stamp set and I colored everything with my ZIG clean color markers. I like to work on Bristol paper when I am using these markers without water as I find they work great and blend beautifully.
To nest my flowers I used the Die-namics Large Rectangle Shaker Window & Frame ( MFT | SSS ) and created a window. As a finishing touch a added dots of back at the center of my poppies with Nuvo Crystal Drops – Ebony Black( MFT | SSS ).
card 2 – puzzle card
For this clean and simple looking card I used the Die-namics Puzzle Cover-Up ( MFT | SSS ). All I did was to cut 4 puzzle pieces out of patterned paper. When I put them together I had one of the pieces slightly off . I think this matched perfectly with my sentiment.
The sentiment is a free with $60 and it’s the My Favorite Things MISS YOU Die-Namics ( SSS ). I cut it out of white cardstock several times and stuck them one on top of the other so I ended up with a thick sentiment that really stands out.
card 3 – card with felt
For this card I went crazy with dimension. To create my felt flowers I used the Die-namics Rolled Rose ( MFT | SSS ) and teh leaves were cut out of felt too using the Die-namics Grand Greenery ( MFT | SSS ). You can use a strong glue to put everything together but I went with my new Sizzix glue gun which is just awesome!
This is not a card I would send by mail due to it’s dimension. I will hand it out to friends who live close to me. I always add a handmade card in their birthday gift bag.
card 4 – Halloween card
And how about a shaker Halloween card ?! The cute bunny is from the BB Frightfully Sweet ( MFT | SSS ) stamp set. You will find tons of adorable creatures all dressed up for Halloween in this stamp set. I colored mine with prismacolor pencils.
For my shaker window I used a shaker mix I had from last year which is not available any more but there are similar here.
card 5 – wedding card
Now for a monochromatic and elegant looking card for weddings. The birds are from the Die-namics Birds of a Feather ( MFT | SSS ) and the leaves are from the Die-namics Grand Greenery ( MFT | SSS ).
You can go with the same design and keep it all white or add gold accents instead of silver. It would look pretty either way.
card 6 – dragonfly card
Another favorite from this release is the Fluttering Friends ( MFT | MFT ) stamp set. I love dragonflies and I just had to use this stamp set. I colored my images with prismacolors and then placed them on a backgroun I created using the Stencil Captivating Mandala ( MFT | SSS ).
One of my favorite cards from this set of 8 as I love the color combo and how they stand out against that gorgeous background.
card 7 – mandala card
The new Die-namics Captivating Mandala ( MFT | SSS ) is stunning. It would be great as a focal point but here I decided to add it as a background. I cut it out twice from different colored cardstock and you have a card in no time!
I added some gems and a cut out sentiment and it’s looking great! The design is so versatile it can work for any type of card, just change the sentiment.
card 8 – cute cats card
For this adorable card I used the Cute Cats ( MFT | SSS ). I did some simple coloring on the cats and cut them out. Then I added them on a piece of cardstock with 3 windows. I just used a small circle die to cut out my windows and scraps of colored cardstock at the back for added color.
The design is really easy and works with lots of images…. you can add in those circles dogs, flowers, monsters, cupcakes… you name it!

the poppies!! so amazing!! All the cards are so beautiful.
Cards 1 & 4 are my favorites, but I always get good ideas from each card on using things in my stash. I have had a 5-pack of Halloween elements for years and have glued them on cards as accents, but now will use them in a shaker card.
Do you find that ScorTape and be creative tape do not adhere easily to the backs of shaker pouches? I had to use liquid adhesive on my tonic leaf pouches.
Also, you mentioned in a previous video that Tonic will provide additional leaf pouches for the last release—do you know when those will be available? (I love their products, but they have a terrible website ?.)
I always love your videos, but I found this particular collection very inspiring with ideas to use some of the “waiting to be used” stamps and dies that are already in my stash! Thanks for sharing, Vicky!
All these cards are so amazing. I love the felt flowers and the last card. Well, I love all of them, but those two are my favorite. Thanks so much for sharing. ???
All are amazing cards Vicky and I have to say the poppies are beautiful.
Awesome creations! I especially love the poppies card!
Fantastic set of cards!! All are my favorites 🙂
Great cards! I especially like the poppies and the kitties. I always enjoy your videos.
What beautiful cards! One is prettier than the last. My favorite is the poppy one, I knew it would be as soon as I saw it as poppies are a favorite of mine, especially red ones. After that one would be the Mandala card. But they are all exceptional. Thanks for sharing them with us.
J’aime beaucoup celle aux coquelicots. Je vous suis surtout sur Youtube où vous m’avez donné envie de faire de l’Art journal que vous faites magnifiquement.
Belle et bonne journée !
The felt flowers are so lovely, Vicky, and I love when you make windows and have cutouts pop out from inside! I have to remember to try that.
I realy don’t know which card I love most so also don’t know which of the new goods you use I like most, I love them all! Thank you for showing these gorgeous cards and inspirational video. Have a nice weekend.
Love your cards. The release is great. Thank you for sharing your tips.
