Today I am back with a Christmas art journal. I worked on an art journal book instead of my latest disc bound journals. I get lots of requests for this kind of layouts so I decided to go back to good old double pages for today. However the same idea can easily work on a single page, on a card or even a canvas!

close-up photos
Here are some close-up photos on my Christmas art journal. For the background I worked with distress oxide inks. I did some blending, water splashes, white splashes and stamping. I finished with some stencling using the Tim Holtz Stencil HOLIDAY SCRIPT ( SSS | SBC ). Lots of techniques for a lot of fun time!
The snowflakes are cut outs using the Tim Holtz Sizzix FLURRY 1 ( SSS | SBC ) and Tim Holtz Sizzix FLURRY 2 ( SSS | SBC ) dies. I used glitter cardstock to cut them out because what’s a Christmas project without some sparkle right?!
The adorable reindeer, Santa and the snowman are cut outs from the Tim Holtz Sizzix COOL YULE ( SSS | SBC ). How awesome is this die set? It’s packed with dies that you can mix and match all the figures such as glasses, scarves, hats etc. I actually cut out everything from white cardstock and colored all the pieces before putting them together.
For the reindeer I went with a red gem for his nose, so here is Rudolf! The sentiment is also a die cut using the
Tim Holtz Sizzix SHADOW SCRIPT CHRISTMAS ( SSS | SBC ). There are many ways to use the dies included to create different looks for words with shadows, bold or thin. I went with the thin option that matches the rest of my layout since the snowflakes are also thin and intricate.

A very Merry Christmas from Alberta Canada, I love all your tutorials, thank you!!
Awesome journal page, thanks for the video!
As always, I just love your page!! I had a really difficult and challenging day. And then I watched the news and felt really afraid. So, I jumped into a hot soothing bath. That helped. The cherry on top? Watching your video. A definite bright spot in an otherwise gloomy sort of day. Thank you so very much, Vicky, for cheering me up a bit (I’ll bet you didn’t even know your video would have that effect, but it did!) Wishing you and your loved ones a very Merry Christmas and a happy holiday season.
