art journal vintage

Welcome to another mixed media Tuesday! A two-page art journal layout today… in my favorite vintage style. I used lots of products such as stamps, stencils, patterned paper from the Sir Vagabond collection by Antonis Tzanidakis for Stamperia.

Here are some close-up photos on today’s art journal. A full list of all the supplies used provided after the photos.

For the background I just had to play with the new Tim Holtz color “salvaged patina” and check the amazing vintage look you get if you combine it with “vintage photo”. As I always say… you can never go wrong with oxides when you want to get a vintage look in no time!

  1. This is one of my favorite quotes since I love to travel. Your Polaroids are brilliant! Interesting how the texture paste grabs the paint color. I love watching your process, especially your decision making. Your tips on making all the elements “blend” together are great! The results are fabulous!

  2. You are amazing! The layout is outstanding as usual. I don’t miss one of your videos – I look forward to each and every one.

  3. As always, I can’t get enough!! Which is why I’m asking for the information for the other pages in the book. Did I miss the videos?

    1. Some of the pages are projects I used to teach on live classes before the pandemic and there is also one which is for an online class forWanderlust 2021, as I am a guest teacher there.

  4. Your work is amazing! I started art journal due to watching your videos, you are so inspiring to watch. Thank you for sharing your love of crafting with all of us. Keep the videos coming. Stay safe!

  5. My favorite day of the week……when you make a mixed media journal page. As usual, this one is, as they say, “out of this world”……..meaning it is SUPER FANTASTIC! Thank you so much for the video………..I love the page!

  6. Another layout that I love!! Those polaroids are a great idea and one that I will definitely try! As always, that is a great background! I have discovered that I have a thing for old newspapers and clocks! That newspaper stamp caught my attention! Thank you so much for the video and all the tips. May all things necessary come together one day so that you may return to Cameroon. I’ve been aching to take a trip to the home towns of my ancestors (in Germany and France) so I have an idea in mind to do a home decor piece with the quote: “Trust the timing of your life”. Patience is not easy me!!!!!

  7. As always it was fun watching you do your thing and in the mean time start thinking about what I could use for a project . The fun part is when the idea starts that eureka feeling ” I can do my thing with what you showed “. Thank you

  8. I love this layout. It reminds me of a past art journal where you used “polaroids” and a view master effect. Still one of my favorites of all your great videos.

  9. Vicki, Another triumph! I love all your art journal videos, especially the ones about travel. I LOVE the Polaroids…my dad was the plant manager when they first started making the cameras that had that self developing film. Every time you mention Polaroid, I immediately think of him and my childhood! Thank you for the memory.
I agree with Jeana above…did I miss some of your art journal page debuts? Saw a couple as you flipped through your journal that didn’t look familiar. Would you please, please show us a page through of all those pages some time? I would LOVE to see them.
You are such an inspiration and I have shamelessly copied some of your ideas. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and for being such an inspiration!

    1. Some of the pages are projects I used to teach on live classes before the pandemic and there is also one which is for an online class forWanderlust 2021, as I am a guest teacher there.

      1. Thanks, Vicky, I hope that you’ll show us all eventually. Your layouts are always so clever, I don’t want to miss even one!

  10. Another stunning page in one of your journals, I love it!
I love how you made it, the texture and layers but I also love the awesome products you use from Stamperia.
Thank you so much for sharing your great inspiration, stay safe and have a wonderful weekend.

  11. Love the colors of these pages. The Polaroids are adorable and are perfect for a travel page. I would love to see the other pages in your journal or did I miss something. I watch all your videos faithfully so I don’t think I missed them. Thank you for sharing your talents and how to make pages in art journals.
