  1. I adore these pages! On the 2nd one, I actually really liked your background especially after you added the 2nd coat of paint and wiped some off letting some of the 1st layer come through. And I understand what you’re saying — I have had my share of experiences with “first layers”!!!!! Right now I have a mixed media canvas where I’ve had the same issue — almost threw it away but at the urging of a friend I didn’t; kept working at it; now the background is growing on me; and I’ve put it aside for a bit b/c I’m kind of stuck on where to go next with it (although I have an idea of what I’d like the finished piece to generally look like). Acrylic paint — as you said — gives the ability to keep working on the background while building layers and texture (also known as covering up mistakes and attempts that don’t look so pleasing)!!!!! Thank you for what you said about paying too much attention to the background. I suffer with that. And then I fall in love with a background and don’t want to put anything on top of it!!!!! Oh, the angst of a creator!!!! Anyway, I also really love the quote you used on the 3rd page. A good reminder for me. I enjoy watching you work with rice/collage paper. Lately I’ve been really into decoupaging and so have become curious about rice paper. Look forward to giving them a try. Thanks so much for the great video, Vicky, and for sharing so many tips, etc. Even though I’ve heard you and watched you use certain techniques over and over there is an expression that sums it up for me: “Repetition is the mother of all learning”. Thank you!!!!!

  2. Loved your pages and I liked all the colors you used. Your backgrounds always come out so pretty. I really liked the quote on the second page, I’m going to use it on a graduation card. Thank you for your videos and inspiration.

  3. Stunning pages Vicky, totally love them.
My favorite is the “the unknown”page, the background turned out awesome!
Thank you so much for sharing, stay safe and have a wonderful day.
