explosion box

Let’s make an explosion box! Today I have a different project for you. Not an art journal or a card. I am creating a three dimentional explosion box while playing with products from my latest collection with Stamperia “Welcome Home”. You can definetly recreate this project with what you have in your stash as it is a great project to showcase elements from a beautiful patterned paper collection.

Here are a couple of photos where you can see the outside of the box with the lid on top

Here is how it looks when you take the lid off!

There are 3 flowers flying off the project but you have to see the video to really understand their dimention and movement!

Here are some close up photos on each individual flap. Every one of them is a compasition that could go on the front of a card!

  • “cheerful bird” flap

  • “Imagination” flap

  • “beautiful” tea cups flap

  • “dreams” hot air balloon flap

  2. Great minds think alike!!!! I’m in the middle of making my first explosion box!! I’ve done all I can for now and have to put it aside because the ideas I have for the rest of it will come from your collection and I haven’t got it yet!!! Yes, I’m finding explosion boxes to be so easy to create (even I can do it without messing up the measurements, etc!! so it’s got to be easy!!!!!) and a ton of fun to decorate! Anyway, I LOVE what you’ve done! I love the colors and how they contrast with each other; I love the images you chose; and I absolutely LOVE the floating butterflies!! I’m going to see if I can do that technique with the box I’m making. It’s such a fun and surprising element! I’ll just have to see if I can dig up/find some sturdy acetate. Hmmmm. Thank you so much for sharing your version of the box and for the wonderful ideas. I’m going to re-watch this video once I get my order. I would like to see if I can incorporate the moulds into the box somehow — I think that would be fun too! The excitement you have for your collection is obvious … and I think maybe contagious!!!!! Thank you, thank you, Vicky! Such a fun video to watch.
