Hi! Today I have a different type of project. I am sharing how I made an album by using the full 8×8 paper pad from my latest collection Oh La La. I am not an expert on album making but it sure is a fun project and the result is adorable. And trust me, if I can make an album so can you! Just watch the video for the complete construction.

I kept the cover simple so that I can easily store it on my bookself. No bulky elements or too dimentional flowers… just a little label holder that adds elegance.

The spiral album is 6×8 and I also added cascading flaps that can hold photos as well as journaling for each photo.

There are many book binding techniques, but I always love fast projects so I went with spiral binding for this one.

You will find pages from patterned paper, from vellu or even from acetate. There are flaps, tabs, pockets and photo mats.

all embellishments used as well as every patterned paper you see in this album was from just one 8×8 paper pad. Check the video to see my left overs and how I store them for future use when I stick the photos on my album.

I made sure that the cover is quite big to allow for the album to grow when I add the photos and more embellishments.

  1. This is such an exquisite project that I don’t have the words to express how lovely it is. I always love what you do, but this project took my breath away. I personally don’t have the patience to do something like this, but I loved watching you make it.

  2. Holy cow!!!! This project really “floats my boat”!!!!!! Fantastic!!! It’s been such a pleasure and joy to witness your growth and the expansion of your creativity over the years!! You’ve been such an inspiration and source of encouragement to me. I’ve fallen in love with rose gold over time so your use of it in your project is really gorgeous. Yes! I would love to get into making albums — or at least give one a try for starters!! I’d like to research some different ways to bind pages in an album (other than having to buy a cinch machine) once I feel better (from having been sick for quite a while). The possibilities really are endless (I could see doing an album with blank watercolor paper as a gift to a budding artist, etc.)! Thank you so very much for sharing this project, Vicky. I really am so truly grateful for — and to — you!!
