Hi! It’s summer and I am taking things slow… so no regular posting for a couple of months but I promise I will still share inspiration. Summer in Greece is a dream so who can blame me for spending more time with family and friends at the beach?! That said … here is today’s layout!

here are a couple of close-up photos on the peeled paint effect that I got!

Wax resist is a great technique and you can even use it over patterned paper or rice paper to reveal bits and pieces of the design.

A bit of shading and tinting with my big brush markers always add that extra dimention on my focal points.

  1. Your “worn wood” look and technique is terrific! Thank you for demonstrating the steps 🙂
I will definitely try that rice paper glue, “when” I am brave enough to start my art journal. I am getting closer, but am still intimidated by the idea of completing the book and even one page. Your videos are helping gain confidence- Thank you!

  2. Another great background! I tried this technique a short while ago, but I think where I went “wrong” (I got A result — just not the result I was expecting or looking for!!) was I didn’t wait for the paint to completely dry. Will try it again for sure. Love the look. Thank you so much for the video. I hope you enjoy your summer, the time off, your time at the beach, and time with your family!!
