Steampunk art journal page today!

If you love mixed media and want to experiment with a steampunk vibe, this art journal tutorial is for you! In this project, I take you through the entire process – from a blank page to a textured, layered steampunk design.

You’ll see exactly how I build up the background, add dimension, and use different techniques and supplies to create a unique page. This is a step by step tutorial that’s easy to follow, even if you’re new to art journaling.

  1. I’m normally not into steam punk, but I really like your page!! Especially your background! When I first started watching videos I tended to re-create what someone else did. Nowadays, however, I find watching someone create sparks an unexpected idea that has nothing to directly do with anything the person I’m watching is doing!!! I don’t know how that works, but it tickles me when it happens. I was watching someone this morning and got the idea from the word “lantern” to make my own lantern out of rectangular frames made from resin! Its’ in the works!! I also like being reminded of a technique I forgot about or haven’t done in a while or haven’t tried or maybe it’s something new to me and I get to learn something new. Anyway, I appreciate your video!! As always, thank you, Vicky!

  3. This steampunk spread looks amazing! I just finished watching your video tutorial, it was super easy to follow, and I actually tried it out myself and managed to create a similar page.
