I didn’t forget you! Life got a little busy these last weeks, but that just means you get a double dose of inspiration today. In case you don’t check my YouTube channel, I’ve combined both recent mixed media projects into one “catch-up” post so you can dive right into the making.
1. Art Journal Cover & Flip Through
In this video, I finally wrap up my 6×6 watercolor journal! I start with a quick flip-through of all the completed pages and then show you how I created the cover. It’s a mix of rice paper, “patchwork” stenciling, and some simple dry-brushing to give it that perfect finished feel.
-
Highlight: Watch my “fussy tearing” technique with a water-brush to get perfectly blended rice paper edges.

2. Frosty Flowers: 2-Page Art Journal Spread
This spread was all about playing with colors I don’t normally use—pinks and oranges! I used a baby-wipe technique to create a messy, textured background and then added “frosty” winter flowers as focal points. It’s a great lesson in how to make elements pop with sketchy outlines.
-
Highlight: See how I use a simple baby wipe to blend acrylics directly on the page for instant texture.
