Hi everyone and thanks for joining me today!

I skipped last week’s video, it was a much needed break after uploading tons of videos in one week. So today I am back with an art journal page. Art journaling is so addictive! The whole process is so creative and makes me happy to see the final result.

I just can’t wait to finish my first journal and I already have tons of ideas sketched, waiting to come to life.

The houses were stamped on patterned paper and glued on the pages.  Here are a couple of closer looks

The page title was stamped letter by letter using two different letter sets and I then added some depth on them with my white gel pen.

  1. Great video! (Loved “weeks later”.) Thanks for the ideas & inspiration on a Sunday morning. Now I’m off for a skate on the Rideau Canal in Ottawa, Canada. 😉

  2. LOVE, LOVE, LOVEEEEE this art journal page, Vicky!!!!!!!!! 😀 In love with that blue background and the stitching you did around the clouds… I also LOVE the subtle texture you added w/the stamps……. Yeah, I LOVE how neat your art is!!!!!! hehehe (: Happy and bright art is right up my alley! You’re certainly my favorite of them all!!!!! ♥

  3. Brilliant….that’s all, just absolutely brilliant, Vicky! You are at the top of my list of favorite artists, my friend! Have a wonderful week!

  4. What an inspiration for my own attempts at journalling and you seem to do it with such ease!! I wished I had a fraction of your talent. One question: is that a baby wipe you use when cleaning up things?? I don’t want to use the wrong stuff and mess up everything I’ve done so far.
Loved the idea of faux stitching and the way you used the gelatos. Colors those Victorian homes much quicker and in a more interesting way. I also thank you for the way of protecting the pages, so that the journal doesn’t look too messy after I worked in it. Especially helpful when using spray paints…
TFS and giving all of us your lovely ideas. Have a great week and I look forward to next Sunday. Hugs Gisa

  5. I LOVE your art journaling pages. Like love, love! The way you shadow makes everything pop. And I love that it’s not crazy messy, know what I mean? Where you can’t really distinguish elements. I hope you keep doing these videos 🙂

  6. I really enjoyed watching you work. Loved the look of all the buildings and sky clouds and kite.
Loved all the colors that evolved into what it was. It’s good to do something different now and then. It’s liberating..Good show.

  7. Beautiful page!!!! I love art journaling and you have definitely inspired me to use that cloud stencil that I don’t use much. Just want to mention that you are the first person that I don’t know who visited my new blog! Thank you so much for your comment, and I will be visiting yours often.

  13. Hi Vicky, I am very grateful for your videos and your work is fantastic! Thank you so much! My daughter is 7 as well and she recieved art supplies for Christmas and wants to do collage! I am excited for that creative journey! How much instruction do you give your daughter? Or do you just let her go? What is the mat you work on that is water proof? Happy New Year!

    1. Hi Allison and thank you for your feedback. You daughter must be so happy to get art supplies! Don’t give her too much instructions except on how she can use her products… like always washing her brushes and things like that. I just let her do her thing. Also I provide her with old magazines and I tell her that she can cut out whatever she likes and glue it on her layouts. You will not believe what they come up with!!! Wish we all had such imagination… but I guess we loose it as we grow up. Have a happy and creative new year!

        1. Do you mean the one with the grid? That is a self healing mat. I also use a craft sheet by ranger when I do my art journals. If you google them I am sure you can find where to get them.

          1. Thanks Vicky! The ranger mat is the one I meant. Thank you for responding. Again Happy New Year!

  14. Vicky,
I can’t tell you how inspiring your art journals are. I have been longing to start my own journals but I do not have all my supplies yet (disabled and not enough $$$), but I am patient. In the meantime, I watch all your blog videos and YouTube videos, and all your card making videos, and I will learn a lot by the time I start my own journal. I have done a couple of cards….that’s how I started. I am also pleased to know that I watch and have also learned from the same people you learned from; including you (I read it on your journal page of the books). I love them all and I will say that you are in the same category as they are. What I really appreciate from you is that you’re really clean with your work and surroundings, and I am the same. I’m not putting anyone down, it’s just my preference, no offense to anyone. I just get confused easily when so much is around me. Anyway……..I look forward to another of your Art Journal Page. Thanks so much for sharing. Eve

  15. Hi Vicky.. love your work.. wondering what stamp you used for the smal letters,, couldnt find them in the list,, thanks
