After a whole week without updating I am finally back. It’s been a difficult week since the kids and DH were all ill. They had common cold, laryngitis, bronchitis… everything is almost back to normal now!
You will not be surprised when you see the card… after having the doctor checking the kids all the time!
Here is it! A bookmark made out of wooden tongue depressor!
Need more inspiration on these wooden bookmarks? Check them out! Aren’t they cute?
My favorite is the one with the butterfly. It even has swarovski beads on her antennas!

What an absolutely clever idea!!!
LOVE It!!! Can’t wait to try it! 🙂
Now I wonder what the doctor is going to say when I ask if I can have a bunch of tongue depressors to go!!! I love this idea, and yes the books look exactly like books. I love all the distressing you used on it. And, I like the pictures of what you used, have not seen that done before and I really like being able to see what tools you’ve used. So sorry the family was sick, glad you’re ok!
What a fun idea to use a tongue depresser as a bookmark. All your versions are adorable.
What a cute idea! I recently discovered your blog and I love your videos!
What a beautiful bookmarkers i love all of them are amazing , the little books are so cute =P hope your family is well soon. Kisses
Such a superb idea. And so pretty too..now if only I had those supplies to tide me over!! (People say its a small world, then why the heck do they charge a bomb for international shipping. The item doesn’t cost so much as much as the shipping does)
At first I thought those stack of books, were travelling bags! dhuh! then I saw the owl and then figured, ok those are books…blame my overactive imagination.
I’ve never seem a picture link of any item before but I think the text link of the item would be better..it would save the post from being too lengthy. Would you agree?

Hi !
What an awesome idea 🙂 But where can we buy the tongue depressor ? I thought I could try with the sticks used for popsicle but it’s not large enough.
Thanks a lot.

It’s really cute. I am having a hard time getting the hole because the wood would crack. Which tool did you use? Thanks
Wow, I really loved!!! I even watched it several times. Thank you so much for having shared your video. Was it glue you used to have the white powder stick to it ? I also couldn’t figure out what the white power was? Can you be so kind and let me know? Thank you.
That is versamark ink, it is a special type of ink that helps the white embossing powder to stick. The technique you are asking about is heat embossing and you need a special type of powder, the special ink and a heat gun. Google it, or check on YouTube for videos on how to heat emboss.
I can’t find the Hello Birdie set!!! does anyone know what happened to it?
