I get a lot of questions on how I make my cards and if I sketch them first. The answer is yes. Most of the time I have a sketched idea on the card I am making. So all I have to do is pick the ink colors and the patterned papers that match.
Actually, I have a sketchbook on my bag all the time, wherever I go. I draw cards everywhere, at work, at the car, at bed. I bought a Moleskine Pocket Storybook. Every page has frames and they are ideal for designing cards.
Nothing fancy … but of course I had to add some glitter on the outside… LOL.
… and here are the sketches for the “back to school” series, just to take a look on the inside 🙂
I may keep the general idea (the one with the fishes) when making the card and change it completely or just go along with the draw.
You can make a cheaper version of this if you follow the instructions of the talented Kristina Werner here, she even provides a template for you to download and print!
I wish I was as talented and organized as you are.
HI, Vicky
I like that you got a natural talent.
I really admire your work and how to combine them.
I tell you that I find very hard but I’ll consider the idea of bringing a notebook to have if I put a little more neurons running and I get something.

What a great idea – no wonder you have such inspired creations
so cool! thanks for the peek at your sketch book!
Got side tracked when I read this post yesterday and forgot to comment. I think this is a neat idea, and thanks for the link. I had no idea they had books premade like this. I agree you never know when inspiration will strike you!
