Hi crafters!

Today I am showcasing the January card kit by SimonSaysStamp.com You already know that I have been a subscriber for quite some time now and you see me using the products in my videos. But guess what?! From now on I’ll be showcasing these kits once a month and a lucky winner will get the month’s kit too!! How fun is this?!

So here is what came in the package! Tons of staff!

And this is what I came up with

The woodgrain cardstock is gorgeous! When you distress it you can see the embossed details and looks awesome. I also had to use those canvas buttons but in a more creative way to make a flower.

  1. The card turned out absolutely GORGEOUS as always–an art masterpiece!!! (; SO picking up sticky canvas today at Michaels. Glad so see you back!! I don’t need a giveaway as motivation to come to your blog, because I delight in coming here, but the once-a-month-giveaway that you’re offering is a HUGE bonus!!! Thank you, Vicky!!!

Hope all’s well with you!! Sending hugs your way! Many blessings, my friend!!! XO

  2. I love the woodgrain paper and have a piece I am hoarding…. trying to curb my spending right now but this paper really is pulling on my good intentions. I so love your videos and when you post a new one immediately have to watch and learn!!! Thanks for sharing all your talent and knowledge. Great giveaway love the products!!!

  3. A really beautiful card here again. You really did a great job, and sooo happy to hear, you´ll be showcasing this every month now. Congratulations with that hun.

  4. Love, love, love all the textures!…the canvas and the embossed cardstock make a perfect combination. I really love this…so artsy! and so much fun to watch you put it together.

You know, I have had a subscription to the SSS card kit club in my shopping cart for months now….and each month I get a bit closer to just signing up! This may have put me over the edge! 🙂

Enjoyed the video and I’m all excited there will be another one tomorrow!

Oh, and thanks for the chance at the giveaway!

    1. Wait until you see the February kit! You will love it. I will make a video during this week so you can check it out. (I am such an enabler … I know…. LOL)

  5. LOVE that woodgrain paper! I wonder if it would cut well using a Cameo or Cricut??? I’d love to have some to give it a try! Sometimes the woodgrain embossing folders weaken the paper so much that it just tears ~ this seems to be a solution to that problem! Thanks for sharing your talent ~ I always look forward to your videos!

  6. Oh my goodness, Vicky…this card is absolutely ADORABLE! I love the woodgrain cardstock and all the canvas details…you are truly amazing!
Thank you so much for a chance to win a kit…it’s so generous of you!!!

    1. Thank you Barb! I am not giving away the kit, SimonSaysStamos is! So happy they are sponsoring my posts!! Whooo whoooo! I will make it clear in my next post. Hugs 🙂

  7. I have been a SSS Card Kit Recipient since the beginning, but I am always looking for cleaver ways to use the kit – in fact, that is what brought me to your blog in the first place. The only thing I always wish for is for you to talk during your video’s instead of the music. I always love hearing about how designers come up with what they do and explain it. I’m sure it’s intimidating, but would love for you to try it. Congrats on the SSS gig.

    1. It’s so difficult for me for many reasons! One of them is that English is not my language, you can all have to listen to my accent instead of my music. Not sure if that’s better! HA ha ha!
Also it takes me lots of time to shot and video edit and by the time I am finished I just want to upload everything instead of doing a voice over. Speaking while crafting is out of the question because I would stop crafting to think of how to say “this” in English! But so many of you are asking that I might be brave and try it once! Thanks for commenting!!!!

  8. The card is great! I love the way you used the sticky back canvas. I’ve thought seriously about the SSS card kits for a while but I’m always afraid there will be stuff I will just never use. I’d love the chance to win one and really try it out.

  9. Hi Vicky,
lovely card again and I am so glad that I have the SSS monthly kit subscribed since last fall. Finally I have some of the things you used available right now. Your ideas always give me an inspirational push in the right direction and get the creative juices “flowing”. It is a grand idea to use the Kit once a month from now on-I am looking forward to all your ideas. Thanks for all the work you invest in us!!
regards from snow covered Germany Gisa
P.S. how is your journal coming along??? Did you complete some more pages??

    1. Oh I wish!!! No time for my art journal yet… you have all seen what I’ve done so far. It is more time consuming than cards which you can make in just one sitting. But I have already tons of ideas sketched. I just need to find the time. Thanks for commenting!

  10. I’m going to try and do my own “take” on your card later today! I have a woodgrain embossing folder…and those distress inks…just gonna have to do something different with the flowers. Thanks for continuing to share your creativeness and inspiring us! Love this! (my email is listed under my name, so hopefully you can obtain it without problem)

  11. You have no idea how much I look forward to your videos! Looks like this is an awesome card kit. Love the embossed woodgrain and I can’t wait to see what else you create with the kit.

Just want to let you know that there seems to be a small problem with your website, every time I try to open your website, there is a small window pops out saying “message from the webpage, error004: **************(some numbers)”, I have to shut it 53 times (yes, I really counted it) to make it eventually go away. I don’t know if this happens to other people or just me or my computer. However, I don’t mind doing this as long as I can see your gorgeous cards! 🙂

  31. What a lovely card. Love the woodgrain paper, it’s gorgeous. And the use of the canvas is brilliant. Thanks for sharing once again with us and thanks for the giveaway.
