Today I am sharing another art journal layout on my disc bound art journal.
The video tutorial is actually a part of a video hop with other mixed media creators. It has been organized by my talented friend Keren Tamir, I had the pleasure to meet her in person when I was in Phoenix, last January. Fun times! Follow along to get inspired, you will see so many different techniques while everyone is using their own style! Grab your coffee and join us! Lot’s of prizes too!
For my background today I used again my Alcohol Inks ( SBC | SSS ) on Yupo Paper ( SBC | SSS ). They are so fun to use and produce so vibrant results!
The focal point is a stamp from the Tim Holtz Stamp Set – Theories ( SBC | SSS ) . I am trying to make the most out of this stamp set that I absolutely love so another art journal is coming soon with that. And I have already posted one using this stamp here.
To create all the layers I used different piece from the ephemera pack as well as design tapes.
I also love to add different textures and dimension on my layouts so I set a metal eyelet, thread some string … and you can add to those the shine from the yupo paper and the foiling I did on top! Fun!
I did lots of stamping for visual texture in the background and I also added a quote from the CHIP QUOTES to finish off my project.

Hello Vicky,
I am very new to arty crafting although I have made cards for years for my family, friends and charity. When I first saw you make the ring binder you got me hooked and I watch all your videos. I have slowly bought a few supplies and I have saved all your videos. I am making a memory tin for my granddaughters so I shall put in some of my crafty projects in the hope that they will be inspired by you too. They are very young but as soon as they could sit properly I have crafted with them and I have lovely ” impressionistic” canvases and laminated art work all through my Hallway and on both sides of my front door. I am very shy but have also started to comment with all my favourite crafters. I love your voice too, very soothing when I am poorly with Bi-Polar Disorder. Thank you for inspiring me to have the confidence to try something new. With very best wishes from Cheryll . xx
thank you for your lovely comment Cheryll! It makes my day to know that my work inspires fellow crafters around the world!!!
You continue to inspire me with ALL your art work. Thank you
You make it loo so simple. I have such a hard time getting started. I Love your art journals!!
What a great idea to have an art journal blog hop!!!! THANK YOU! Looking forward to checking out the rest of the hop, but first … thank you for the video and tips. For my next art journal page I’m going to try using alcohol inks for the background. I also appreciate your reference to Joggles. I really like their web site, the products they offer and especially the videos there. Lots of great ideas and techniques. I made some art tiles to use for a mixed media project I made and they were fun to do! Thanks so much, Vicky.
I am inspired by your layouts. They always have the perfect combination of stamping and ephemera. I’ve been a bit apprehensive about trying alcohol inks but you make it look so easy and the vibrant background colors really enhance the black stamped image.
Love, love your journal pages. I love all the products.
