Hi! Today I have a lovely mother’s day card. I used the new Morning Glory ( ALTN | SSS ) stamp set by Altenew. It has just been released and it’s another great addition to their Build-A-Flower collection. This set contains two beautiful multi-layered morning glories along with leaves and vines.
If you follow me for a while you know that I absolutely love flower stamps and especially layering ones. The quick stamping along with the beautiful result is something I can’t resist! Plus these are the first morning glories in my stamp collection. Yeah for new unique flowers!
I stamped my flowers using different shades just to make the composition more pleasing to the eye. For the pink flower I used the Cherry Blossom Oval Set ( ALTN | SSS ) and for the purple flower I used inks from the Shades of Purple Oval Set ( ALTN | SSS ). All the leaves, vines and stems where stamped using inks from the Tropical Forest Oval Set ( ALTN | SSS ).
You can leave the background white for a clean look. I wanted to go artsy today so I added splashes of black and gold using Altenew sprays.
The sentiment is from the same stamp set and I white embossed it on a black strip of cardstock.

I have not trusted my skill level enough, even with a Misti, to invest in layering stamps. That said, I may have to try this one as Morning Glories are favorites in my flower beds and I always enjoy seeing them every spring. How cool would it be to create cards with these flowers all year? Very pretty card using this new stamp – I’m so glad they included the curly tendrils (ten-drilz) stamp so the morning glories can happily climb up the trellis.
