close-up photos
That adorable little elf which is the focal point of my page is from the Santa’s Helper( SBC | SSS | CST ) die set by Sizzix.
For the background I used the Holly Collage Paper ( SBC | SSS ) and applied it with Distress Collage Medium – Vintage( SBC | SSS ) which gave that vintage tint on my project.
I used lots of pieces of Christmas Design Tape( SBC | SSS ) as well as stickers from the CHRISTMAS Sticker Book ( SSS ) to embellish my project.
I also added highlights with my Sakura – Gelly Roll Pen ( SBC | SSS ). It really brings the elements to life and helps them pop against the background.
Finally as a finishing touch I used the Sparkle Stencil ( SBC | SSS ) to add the stars around the page with Embossing Paste( SBC | SSS ).

Oh wow, this is so fun and awesome!! <3
YAY! I’ve been wondering if you will do a Christmas/Winter art journal page!!!! Thank you, thank you!!!!! And I almost placed an order with Scrapbook.com the other day. I’m glad I waited so I can use your afflicted link. The star stencil has already sold out (not a surprise). The way you used gesso around the edges of the page gives a dream like effect (at least to me). So cool. That collage paper is so beautiful. Also, I appreciate that you showed your process and what you were thinking as you went along. It’s helpful for me to see — and be reminded — how to work with something (covering up the upside down “Christmas” word) and to go with the process. If you use some of the other Tim Holtz dies in a video, would you consider using the berry/greenery die? I have it and am having trouble understanding how best to use it. Thank you very much, Vicky! Really enjoyed TWO videos (feels like Christmas!!!) from you.
Sooooo excited to see an art journal page! I have really missed these – they’re so fun. Thanks for sharing
What an adorable page, I was just wanting to use this die set and looking for ideas! I feel very inspired to do something like this to frame.
