Hi! Today I am back with my latest art journal page where you can see the new Speckled Egg ( SBC | SSS | JGG ) color in action! Check out what a great color combo it does with Vintage Photo and how well it works for your vintage projects.
You can enjoy the video below or at my YouTube channel
The cats as well as the phrases are from the Snarky Cat ( SBC | SSS | JGG ) stamp set. Look at this face!!! Makes me laugh everytime!
For this guy I just had to rip off the paper… he is a naughty cat as you can see….
For the background I combined Speckled Egg and Vintage photo and they are a perfect match!
For texture I used embossing paste and the Bricked stencil by Tim Holtz… so the background looks like an old wall with frames on top.
Here is another close up where you can see the texture and the wonderful background color
The frames are made using the Sizzix Decor Frames( SBC | SSS ).
Below you can find a list of all the products used today. Links to multiple online shops are available, just click the logo below each item. Affiliate links used where possible at no extra cost to you.
This is the cutest thing ever!!! (and I am more of a dog-person)…lol
Well Vicki, this was THE treat of the day for me. One of your best ever.
I love this journal spread. The background is amazing and what you did with the cats and frames – so fun!!!
I love these 2 journal pages. I am sure they will be “Ginger” approved.
Colour combo is fantastic.
These are cute as can be but the falling kitty had me LOL! Adorable! Can’t wait to see the video! TFS!
Such a clever Art Journal page Vicky! I love the cat with the claw marks and the snarky sentiments! But I really love how you used the speckled egg new color — and I learned about using the two sprays together and subduing the vintage photo and then “erasing” the stamping with the distress oxide, those two tips were really helpful! TFS!!
Stunning page Vicky, I love it! What a great colour is the Speckled Egg, can’t wait untill mine is ariving. Thank you so much for sharing, stay safe and have a great week.
That is the cutest art journal page I have ever seen. I’m not into this medium but I love seeing how you make your pages. Super fun!
I just love this page! Such a treat to have one of your videos to lift my spirits, which were low today. I loved how the brick and oxide ink looked like an old plaster walls and the cats were so lively and mischievous, just like real ones.thank you!
These pages are amazing. You could make a little story book using these character stamps. Just live what you’ve created here. Brilliant job. I’m sure Mr Holtz would agree!
Here in the US our hair salons, nail salons, barber shops are all closed down. The name of your Site has so much more meaning to us now. Love you, keep the inspiration coming. HUGS
This is definitely one of my new favorite journal pages by you, but the truth is it doesn’t matter what I think. What really matters is: what does Ginger think of it?!!!!!! SO much fun. Like others have said, it brought a smile to my face today and Ginger’s appearance made me laugh out loud! Thank you both for that. Love the background and the detail of the scratch marks. I’m in the process of roughly planning out a new mixed media project which I hope will include some red brick (using a stencil) so seeing how you did your’s was helpful and timely. The Speckled Egg products I ordered should be arriving on Saturday. With the slower than usual mail and all you got your’s before I got mine!!! So happy to see you using it before I break into what arrives here. I already have a bunch of projects lined up to make. Thanks for sharing your wonderful, fun and funny project and for all the tips. So happy to hear things are easing up in Greece!! Here in Arizona we’re still having a difficult time. Although businesses are opening up again, I have decided to stay in lock down for at least a while longer.
I bought this stamp set quite a while ago – and now I have a wonderful idea – thanks to you!! I think this is my favorite (I always say that until the next one you do), but really, it is just wonderful. I love cats and have a kitty that looks a lot like Ginger. He likes to help me craft and sew like she does. Stay well and thank you for you day brightening tutorials.
Made me laugh! Love it!
Another wonderful video and art journal page. When you almost stamped those cats upside down, I was yelling at the video, like you could hear me. Lol
The cat scratching is my favorite element also. So clever.
Thanks for sharing.
Stay safe, stay healthy.
Brought a smile to my face! Thank you for sharing your creativity and talent! :-).
Stay safe! Stay healthy!
I don’t know how you come up with these ideas,Vicky! The cat caught clawing the paper is too funny and I love the background. I wasn’t sure about Speckled Egg, but now I see it really is a great color. Thanks for sharing this fun video.
This made me smile! My 17 year old cat died this year and this was what I needed. Thank you!!!
OMG! I love those cats and the phrases! The cat clawing down the canvas is the best! I’m glad Ginger made an appearance! Your brick background is fantastic!
BTW- things in Minnesota, USA are not that great right now, but your video really helped brighten my day. Stay safe!
This is such a cute journal page because it captures the essence of cats! I love the colors your used and the brick stencil made the page pop. I love your videos please keep posting as they bring me joy during these trying times. Thank you
I love your cats! They have wonderful personalities.
This looks like tons of fun to create. Will check out the video.
This is too much FUN! Thanks for the video!
This is my second favorite of all your journal pages!!! It’s just so expressive to me. Maybe because I feel like the hanging cat sometimes! LOL!
so cute…I love it..
