Hi! I have another sea themed card for you today… can’t stay away from it this season… so I am using products from the latest release by MFT stamps for the cutest results!

For my card today I used images from the Best Catch Ever( MFT | SSS ) stamp set. It’s a small stamp set thus inexpensive but it is packed with adorable images that can be used in so many different ways for underwater scenes!

For my background I used the SY Scallop Stripe( MFT | SSS ) stamp to add as interest and visual texture, using white embossing. Then I went over it with various colors of inks from darker to lighter.

The sentiment also comes from the same stamp set.

I used the matching dies to cut out everything and instead of stamping, coloring and then die cutting the fish I decided to just cut them out from black cardstock. This way I get a more dramatic look and they look as if they are far at the background.

To finish off my card I added a few gems as if they are air bubbles coming out of the whale!

  1. Cute card. I miss your Create 8 feature for MFT. You’re one of very few designers I follow, but I always get such great ideas. Because of your posts, I’ve ordered a few kits from SSS, Tonic, and Spellbinders that I wouldn’t have known about.

  2. What a colorful card, and I really like the way you used (and stamped) the corals! As someone who loves whales, I got a kick out of seeing a pink one!!! I appreciate the reminder not to always think in literal ways! Thank you, Vicky! This makes me homesick for the ocean (especially since it’s 115 degrees here in Arizona) and the ability to go on a whale watch (something I used to do every summer when I lived in the Northeast of USA). I miss my “friends”.

  3. Your card and the stamp set are so cute, love the sayings. I really like the scallop stamp, you can do so much with it. Thank you Vicky!

  4. Awesome card Vicky, colourful but not to busy.

Thnak you so much for sharing, stay safe and have a wonderful day.
