DIY advent calendar

A DIY advent calendar today! I made sure that the project is not time consuming and easy so you can finish it in one evening with no problem. A DIY advent calendar can be used every year as you pull it out of your storage along with the rest of your Christmas decorations. It is also a great gift!

For the base of my project I used a wooden Artemio advent calendar with 24 drawers. I decorated the background with paint and then on top I used ephemera, rub-ons and cut out images from the “Classic Christmas” Stamperia collections (list of supplies below the photos). For the numbers you can use ready made stickers or create your own like I did.

Watch the video below for a step by step tutorial on how I made my DIY advent calendar.

  1. I really love this and you did a great job with your instructions. However, I know how I am and if I started today I might have it ready for Christmas 2023. So glad I discovered you.

  2. Oh my … how absolutely adorable!!! Your Advent calendars (this one and from years past) are so much fun and so creative! Yes, please, I would like to see another!!!! I can imagine how time consuming and tedious cutting the numbers out must have been and yet they add so much to the calendar (and, of course, it wouldn’t be a calendar without the numbers!!). Thank you so much for the video and for yet another different crafting idea!

  3. Oh my! What words can I use to describe this project? GORGEOUS, CLASSY, and FUN! You have outdone yourself! I would LOVE to get this as a gift……….

  4. Oh my goodness Vicky, that came out adorable! I am going to get all the supplies to make one for myself. I love the vintage look and all the details you added to it. I felt the colors you used on the box made everything stand out. I would love to watch you make another one, such a wonderful way of making an advent calendar! Thank you.

  5. You did a beautiful job! Gets me into the Christmas spirit even if it is October!
Did you use just grey on the boxes or a hint of white as well when you painted them prior to decorating them?
Thank you again for another inspiring video!
