For the background I used the gorgeous LACE HEART KALEIDOSCOPE  stamp with embossing powder. This pattern really screams for the emboss resist technique. So I mixed 3 colors of ink pads warm yellow, warm red and raspberry

Then I didn’t want to cover that beautiful background so I made sure that my elements were not too big. I die cut a small heart and stamped one of the smallest sentiments from the
FROM THE HEART MESSAGES stamp set. To finish off the design I embellished my heart with leaves and a few gems.

  1. A clean and simple card that is perfectly wonderful! The emboss resist technique really allows the design of the background stamp to shine! The smaller elements add a nice focal point without detracting from the background. ?

  6. Gorgeous card, Vicky! Emboss resist is a favorite technique of mine, yet I rarely remember to use it. You’ve inspired me to pull out some background stamps and make some backgrounds to be used later. That way if I need a card in a hurry I’m halfway there! Thanks for sharing!

  7. I thought I left a comment earlier, but I don’t see it so maybe I forgot to hit the Post Comment button? Anyway, I love your card and emboss resist is a favorite technique of mine too. You’ve inspired me to make some backgrounds!!
