Time to share some inspiration using products from the May card kit by SimonSaysStamp. Today I thought it would be fun to share a couple of mixed media cards. Many card makers avoid this style thinking that it is messy, too abstract or they don’t know how to start. But did you know eveyrthing you need is in the kit?! Plus it’s really easy and creates gorgeous cards?

You only need stamps and splatters! Want to try with me!?

In both those cards I used the 6×6 papers included in the kit that provide the perfect background for my mixed media steps. Check the video and recreate similar cards on the rest of the papers. It’s a lot of fun and really easy. You will end up with a gorgeous pile of cards that could easily be a set to hand them out as a gift.

in this card I also did some text stamping for visual texture and tied a bow to add dimensional point of interest

  1. Love the tone-on-tone look at the background!! And I would never have thought to use sentiment stamps instead of a more mixed media text stamp! It really works well!! Glad to see your “supervisor” is still on the job checking out the lollipop!!!!! (Hi, Ginger!) Way back when I had an original Cricuit machine and found the same thing — the mat was a pain — so I gave up on it (for other reasons too). These are such simple cards and yet so effective! Thank you for the video, Vicky!
