Hi everyone! Don’t you love Fridays?! Best day of the week plus a new challenge at lily pad cards! And guess what? We changed the rule so today’s challenge will last for a whole month! Plenty of time to get crafty and enter lots of beautiful creations!

And today’s challenge is all about resist! Yep! One of my favorite techniques! So here is a quick card I made.

It took me less than 10 minutes to do it. Yes! I can do simple cards… although it’s too challenging for me… i usually have tons of details and they take for ever!)

So here are some photos I took while I was doing that resist technique on the background:

First I stamped the backgrounds with versamark ink and embossed with white embossing powder (it works with clear powder just the same since I used white cardstock):

Then I inked the paper with my blending tool using two shades of distress ink:

I used lighter color (fired brick) on the whole paper and a darker color (aged mahogany) on the edges:

Wanna tell you a secret? I feel so much joy and happiness when I have inky fingers no matter what the outcome will be! Oh! I cardmaking!!! Don’t you?

And then the easy part, I used a layered sticker:

and I punched out some butterflies using patterned paper from the same collection:

I added the butterflies and a piece of tissue tape. I stamped my sentiment on that tape. And I guess that’s it! Simple, quick and so colorful!

See you on Sunday with another how-to video !
