close-up photos

For my holiday card I used the lovely Festive Poinsettia Stamp Set( ALTN | SBC | SSS ). I embossed the flower on watercolor paper with
Antique Gold Crisp Embossing Powder( ALTN | SSS ). The golden touches give a really festive look ton my card.

To color my flower I used the AltenewWatercolor Brush Markers( ALTN | SBC | SSS ). It’s really easy to blend these colors on watercolor paper and you can watch the video for a step by step tutorial on how I did it.  For adding something extra on the background I used the
Kind Confetti Stamp Set( ALTN | SBC | SSS ) that added all those dots! They are also embossed with antique gold.

Finally for my sentiment I used one from the same stamp set that says “wishing you” and I combined it with the word JOY that I die cut using the Fine Alphabet Die Set( ALTN | SBC | SSS ).

  1. It’s always good to be reminded that a black background can look stunning! It’s usually not my ‘go to’, especially around Christmas.

  2. Stunning card Vicky. The deep dramatic colours accented with the gold makes for a very impressive card. Really enjoyed the video, thank you.

  3. Vicky, I always look forward to your videos as I know I will be inspired to create something as beautiful as your projects. Thanks for sharing your talent!

  4. What a stunning card. I really like the red and black. There’s something about using the black that calms down the red (not sure that’s the “technical” language!). It’s just stunning and has a feel to me of “merry” (the red) and “peace” (the black). I guess the technical way of saying it is the 2 colors really balance each other(?). And the gold with it really gives it a lot of class. Thanks for sharing and for the video.
