Check the video above for a step by step video on all 3 carsd as well as a quick look on all the new dies.

the woven heart card

This amazing heart was done using the Woven Heart Die Set( ALTN | SSS ) . for this card I decided to go with pale colors for both the card and the leaves. It’s a great design for wedding, anniversaries or Valentine’s Day depending on the sentiment you choose to use.

The leaves are from the Just Leaves Die Set( ALTN | SSS ) and they are great as fillers on cards. It’s one of those sets that you will go back to again and again, using it through out the year. So versatile!

Isn’t the texture you get on the heart just amazing?!

the layered wood fower card

This stunning flower has just two layers for the petals and two layers for the center. Doesn’t get any easier to put together, still is so pretty!

Created using the Layered Wood Flower Die Set( ALTN | SSS )

Since I went for a slimline card I used two cut outs from of the Linear Crossroads Die( ALTN | SSS ). They provde a great background to nest your focal points on top and by combining more thatn one you can cover up bigger areas.

For the sentiment I used the Bold Thanks Die Set( ALTN | SBC | SSS ) from an older release.

the floral doodles card

Another slimline card… the more I make them the more I love them! This time I used the Floral Doodles Die Set( ALTN | SSS ) for my tulips and I added them in  a vase.

Love the stained glass look that you get with this die set!

The vase is from the Mod Vases Die Set( ALTN | SBC | SSS ) and the sentiment from the Essential Sentiment Strips Die Set( ALTN | SBC | SSS ) .

  1. This release has some great filler firs for cards .. backgrounds, or leaves we can always use those also!! Thanks for sharing your beautiful ideas

  2. Such lovely cards Vicky! I am really liking this die release from Altenew. I am in Canada in a location where we are also in lockdown and will not be able to celebrate the holidays with anyone outside our household. Your videos have been such an uplifting part of my week during this time! Thank you

  3. Beautiful work and cards, very helpful video. Love watching you work through your cards. Have a safe holiday. Viewing you from New Orleans, Louisiana USA and vaccines are being distributed in the area to front line workers. Sooner or later my daughter with receive as she works in the healthcare industry. Stay safe everyone.

  4. Dear Vicky- You are a treasure. Just a treasure! First, you are so genuine and sweet. I hope you deeply enjoy the time off w/ your family. I am watiching, since you asked, from Pennsylvania, roughly an hour outside of Philadelphia. If ever you come to the US and to this area, it would be my absolute pleasure to host you for sightseeing through Amish Country (Lancaster area). COVID has been spiking in this area. There are many cases but not as many as in CA. The vaccine is in the major cities and for healthcare workers first. I am a teacher and have had a total of 3 pacemakers, so I will be in one of the earlier groups for a vaccine, I’m guessing… not that I would push someone else out of the way to obtain it. I pray that the vaccine solves this crisis, but people are really careless and that is at the heart of why the whole world is in crisis.

Your English is amazing… more “real estate” to cover. Wow! You are a marvel. Usually we say “on the back” as opposed to “at the back” (foam squares). I offer this small constructive advice with the utmost admiration. I speak French and Spanish, neither as good as your English, I am certain.

Thank you for showing how that heart die works. That was an impt part of your video. I liked all these cards very much and maybe one day, if I work very hard at cardmaking, I can appear to have 10% of the talent you possess in your little finger!

Blessings upon blessings on you and your family. Peace and health to you in 2021!!
    Lori S in PA

  5. Love your cards, Vicky! The heart die looks complicated, but your way of making it looks easy! Thanks for the inspiration. Merry Christmas to you and your family! In Colorado, the numbers are still high, but the vaccine is being given to health care workers and those who live in senior living facilities and nursing homes. Looking forward to a better new year!!

  6. Hi Vicky, This video again shows how to use a new product to best advantage. I’m fascinated by the impact of that tiny diagonal strip behind the tulip vase. It really makes an impact!
I watch you from Coeur d’Alene, Idaho in northwestern US. We are so close to Washington state that we are in the Pacific Time Zone, while the rest of the state is in the Mountain Time Zone. It makes for confusion when we’re trying to set up meetings with people in our state capitol, Boise!
Happy holidays to you and your family!

  7. I loved watching your video and always learn a tip or two which I appreciate very much! I adore the cards you made and how to weave the heart die. Such a clever idea! I’m from Ohio in the USA. I wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

  8. Gorgeous cards, Vicky! I can’t pick a favorite, I love them all! Thank you for the tips using the Woven Heart die! I live in El Paso, Texas and we’ve been hit hard with the virus, however, our numbers are getting a little better. Our city will be having a more stringent curfew during the Christmas and New Years weekends.Vaccinations are rolling in and being given to health care workers this week, thank goodness! I hope you have a wonderful holiday and thank you for all of your inspiration!

  9. Fantastic cards. Love the dies. Thank you for the beautiful cards. Merry Christmas and Happy New Years to you and your family. Be safe

  10. I’ve yet to see one of your videos that I didn’t thoroughly enjoy and learn from. Just when I think I’ll never buy another flower, here comes one (or 2) that I really “must have”. I’m in the Midwest of the US and our numbers are also climbing.Stay safe, be well, And Merry Christmas.

  11. Hi Vicky. I really enjoy watching you create your cards etc. I think my favourite to day is the last card – we are just beginning our winter here in Ontario Canada and I am already looking forward to seeing the tulips in the spring.
Where I live we are in a bit of a lock down – but not complete lock down.
We are able to spend Christmas with the person(s) who have been in our bubble. In my case my case son and daughter in law.
The covid vacine has started to be administrated here in Ottawa to the people on the front line.
Enjoy your time off from posting – spending time with your family – look forward to seeing what you create in the new year. Happy Holidays.

  12. Lovely cards! The heart die is so clever and fun. I really like the slimline card with the gold crossroads die and the pretty blue flower. Perfect!

  13. Beautiful cards! As each one came along, it was my favorite! LOL I’m in Delaware USA and health care workers are getting the vaccine along with the elderly in health care facilities. My husband and I are still in our home but will no doubt be in the group to receive the vaccine soon. Christmas will be a quick drop by affair from our family members. Our daughter has indicated she is bringing our dinner which sounds delicious. We celebrated Thanksgiving together but things are worse now and we’re being cautious. I wish you and your family a Happy Holiday with wishes for a better 2021!

  14. The tulip card is my favorite, but I also really like the woven heart and the copper glitter paper is stunning (I like brown/blue too). I join with others in hoping you enjoy your holiday time with your family. Here in Tucson, Arizona we are now under curfew and things have gotten really bad again (we are being asked to shelter in place, although it’s not a government order). I will be spending Christmas at home with myself and plan to finish a craft project for a friend’s birthday (which is in January). It doesn’t feel like Christmas this year, but I will do what I can to mark the day. I will be buying my first home next month and moving in the end of January so I have lots to do/look forward to/be grateful for. Not the best time to move, but circumstances are what they are and I will take precautions. Our situation with the vaccine is the same as others in the U.S. Safe and happy holidays to everyone! Thank you for the video, Vicky!

  15. The tulip card is tops for me! Gets me thinking about spring on this late autumn day thatt produced 20 inches of snow! Have a wonderful Christmas with your family, Vicky!

  16. Vickie, such lovely cards. Am glad to hear that you have a holiday planned for home. I’m in Illinois, USA, and we are quite limited on where we can go, which is fine. I am lucky that I can stay home. I’ve been sewing masks since the early spring, and have used up over 50 yards of material. My card making has slowed because of the mask making, but I never miss an opportunity to watch your wonderful videos. Let’s hope 2021 is a much safer, saner and healthy year for everyone.

  17. As usual, all of your creations are amazing, but I especially like the tulips in the vase. I a in Hemet, CA which is under a stay at home order at this time. It really doesn’t affect me too much because I am not a well person and don’t go out unless it is to the doctor or some other type of medical appointment. So far during this pandemic all of my doctor appointments have been via telephone calls. I look forward to watching your videos and hope that you continue to do them, especially your art journal ones. Stay safe, have a very Merry CHRISTmas and a blessed New Year!

  18. The tulip card is my favorite, but I love the new Leaf die set. I’m in N Calif where our small county saw over 1,000 new cases in the past 5 days. Calif has more cases than some countries. My husband and I have not traveled more than 4 miles from our home since late Feb., and have not had guests inside our home. Fortunately, we enjoy time at home and in the garden.

  19. Beautiful cards! This new release from Altenew is great – so many dies to be used in so many ways. Thanks for sharing your ideas and your talent with us. 🙂

  20. Vicky, love, love, love the slimline cards. Especially the layered wood flowers, matted on the linear die. Very beautiful!

  21. Dear Vicky,
Thank you so much for sharing your great talent. You are amazing and you inspire me every day.
I love the blue flower card the most if I have to choose but I do like them all.
I always am looking forward to your next creation.
Best wishes for the holidays to you and your loved ones.

  22. Haven’t tried the slimline cards yet but your designs make me want to try it! Thanks for sharing your vision

  23. Thanks for doing samples with Slim Line cards. You really showed these dies off to great advantage and since I just broke down and bought 4 of the sets you used I know I will be coming back to refresh my memory with your ideas (as well as those from the other bloggers!)

  24. Your creativity to make the slimline design cards is brilliant. I haven’t tried a slimline card yet, but I’m officially inspired to just get out there and give it a try.

  25. I love your cards. Your mixed media cards are fantastic. It’s great the way we can see your creativity come through with each card you make.

  26. Vicky!! Your cards are beautiful – I also love the blue one the most. The sparkle paper is perfect! thanks for your inspiration!
