Hi! Today I am back with a different kind of project. It’s not a card or an art journal layout but it’s a lovely organizer for your desk that you will use daily to keep your desk tidy. Plus you can customize it to bring you joy when you look at it!!!

It is designed by Art by Marlene and it’s my new favorite thing! It’s now on SALE for 15% OFF and for less than $23 you will get something to use every day. I think it’s a great value for money!

The organizer is made out of MDF and it comes completly flat in a box. All the pieces are white and you have the option to spray, paint, stencil, stamp. stick … oh the techniques you can do on top!

I would suggest to do everything before you put it together since it’s always easier to work on flat surfaces. Depending on the medium you are planning to use you may want to apply a thin layer of gesso to prime it. You can also use craft glue or even wood glue to put it together. But guess what? I didn’t use any glue and it works just fine!

Check the video below where I discuss many different techniques you can while I put mine together.

When you put the organizer together you will end up with 6 compartments all around and one taller one in the center.

It fits all my little things that I like to keep handy on top of my desk, like my favorite scissors, my go to adhesive, my white and black pens etc.

I wanted a clean and simple look since that would match with my craft toom so I kept it smple and decorated only the outer edges. I painted them with blue shades and used die cut mandalas to stick them on top. At the center of the mandalas I added some gems that shine as it spins and I even added dots here and there with my nuvo drops.

  1. Great idea. I need a giant one for my craft room!! I love how you used the mandela dies. Love watching you create.

  2. I LOVE when you do these different types of projects!!! So much fun and something different! I used to have something like this that I got at a local craft store years ago, but I don’t have it any longer. It was very convenient and helpful to have all the tools I use frequently available in one place and close by. And this one would be fun to decorate!! This might be a good Christmas present to myself!! Thanks so much, Vicky, and I hope you stay safe too.

  3. I was needing something like this to keep the most used tools handy so I’ve ordered one! I love that it turns for easy access. Thanks for sharing!
