Hi! A while back I had the pleasure to be a guest designer over at the SimonSaysStamp blog where I shared an art journal.
In case you didn’t have the chance to see it, I am share it today on my blog and have uploaded the video on my own youtube channel as well.
The art journal design is simple but the colors make the layout so striking! I had so much fun playing with the foam stamp set by Stampendous and I really like the outcome.
I used distress paints for coloring and I mixed them directly on the foam stamp with a fun technique.
For my quote I printed the saying on plain printer paper and cut out the strips. I have combined them with white alphabet stickers to make a couple of words more bold ! And of course to finish it off I used my favorite shading and highlighting techniques.

Wonderful page. TFS!
HI Vicky! I love this layout – I have a question about the matt medium – when you adhere your buildings did you cover the whole page with matt medium? i find when i’m working with darker paints as a background the matt medium is very noticeable so I end up covering the whole page to keep the background colors even. Thanks.
Gorgeous, love the contrast of the coloured buildings on the background. Creative Blessings, Tracy x
Couldn’t love more all the colors contrast! Beautiful!! May I ask what do you use to “glue” 2 pages together so it doesn’t leave glue marks?
just my matte medium but you can use anything really
I have always loved your work. It was you that sparked my interest in art journalling, so a big thank you from sunny South Australia to your home. I know you are busy with life and other projects, but I particularly love coming onto this website in the hopes that you have completed another art journal page. I will keep on hoping.
Thankyou for sharing this Vicky….so clever!
